Lough Key Stand Up Paddle Boarding

What is Stand Up Paddle Boarding? (SUP)

SUP is the wellness and fitness water sport that has taken the world by storm. It originated in Hawaii in the 1940’s from surfing and now it is a sport in its own right, where participants stand on a floating board on the water and propel themselves using a paddle. It’s a way to explore beautiful scenery and tranquil settings by travelling lakes, bays and rivers, all while getting in a full body, low-intensity workout.

Sounds good right?

Our SUP experience is located in one of the most stunning and historic beauty spots in the world, Lough Key in Boyle, Co.Roscommon.

Tell me more about the workout?

SUP is a low-intensity workout that improves endurance, balance and strength. You will work out your upper body, core and legs, and a leisurely hour-long paddle can burn twice the calories of a moderately paced walk.

Plus, you’ll be having so much fun you won’t even realise you’re working out!

There’s more than just the physical rewards though, it also helps restore balance, calms the mind and reduces stress.
